Greetings from Dyersville.

We’ve recently announced some new items that will be coming out within the next few months. I want to talk about a few of these items and give you some additional background information.

First is the 1:64 Iowa State branded Magnum 380 tractor. Case IH asked us to look at producing a tractor in Iowa State colors and graphics as a way to show Case IH’s support of the engineering school at Iowa State. We have many employees here in Dyersville that are Iowa State Alumni, or have kids there right now. You might notice that we’ve done something completely different with the tires on this tractor. We’ve molded them in red to make the tractor look completely different from our other Magnum models. Along with the special graphics and Iowa State logo, we think this model will be a great item for all those collectors who love Iowa State, or just love the state of Iowa.

We’re also bringing out a 1:64 Miller Nitro 6500 Sprayer. We did an earlier model Miller self-propelled sprayer back in 2013 before they were purchased by New Holland. We’re now able to bring out the 6500 model and offer it to our OEM dealers and other accounts for the first time. In addition, we’re also working on a Hagie sprayer that will be available to John Deere dealers later this year.

We are pleased to announce a 1:32 IH 3388 2+2 tractor as part of our National Farm Toy Museum offerings. The Ertl company helped start the National Farm Toy Museum back in 1986. To help with the start-up, Ertl produced a series of 1:16 tractors, including vintage CO-OP, and Cockshutt tractors and the proceeds from the sales of these tractors were donated to the museum. The National Farm Toy Museum also hosts the Summer Farm Toy Show. The show this year is on June 2 and 3. We will have our product showroom open with displays of our current and new product coming out in 2017.

I also wanted to talk briefly about two Ford tractors that are coming out. First is a 1:16 Ford NAA tractor that we are offering as a special FFA tractor. The Ford NAA tractor was produced in 1954 and was essentially the same as the Ford NAA Golden Jubilee tractor that was produced in 1953 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Motor company. The 1953 model had a special hood emblem that included the “Golden Jubilee” wording, which was removed for 1954.


The second Ford tractor we’re introducing is a purple colored Ford 9N called the “Survivor” tractor. The Survivor tractor is a fully restored Ford 9N that New Holland is using to raise funds for cancer research. I look forward to seeing some of you at the Summer Farm Toy show in a few weeks. The corn is up and I need to get the rest of my garden planted. The winter was not kind to my strawberry bed, so I might have to buy some more plants. The asparagus and rhubarb are looking very good, along with the potatoes I planted on Good Friday.
